MMHA Programs
PUBLIC NOTICE:
Because there are over 1300 families on the current waiting list, the Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority (MMHA) will close its Section 8 Housing Voucher Program waiting list on June 30, 2007. Applications received or postmarked after this date will not be added to the waiting list.
Section 8 Assistance
Key Benefits
- Eligible families make up to 50% of county median income
- Landlords can charge fair market rent.
- Client pays 30% of their total income towards rent
- Balance of rent is paid by MMHA via funds from federal government.

Housing Choice Vouchers Program
Formerly Certificate and Voucher Programs, to be eligible for the Housing Choice Voucher Program, the individual or family has to have an income of 50% or less of the county median income. The MMHA pays the differnece between the contract rent and the client's portion (generally 30 percent of monthly income) via funds from the federal government.

Family Self Sufficiency Program
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program helps Section 8 families as they strive to achieve economic independence. Particiapnts are referred to training programs and social services necessary to reach their goals.
The programs include:
- Job Training Placement
- Counseling
- Budgeting Skills Training
- Resume Writing Assistance
- Interviewing Skills Training

H.O.M.E. Program
Key Benefits
- Home Ownership Made Easy (H.O.M.E.) helps Southwick Place families buy their own homes.
- MMHA provides them with Master Money Management Program.
- Teaches clients how to budget and clean up their credit reports.
- Families are required to maintain savings accounts.
- Every $3 saved is matched with $1 from MMHA.
- Maximum up to $1000.
